Home Decor

Since Brett and I have gotten married and moved into our apartment (Reid Estates, as I call it), I have just loved getting ideas for home decor and making our place special. I know it's a project that will most likely never end, but it's fun nonetheless. Lately I've been obsessing over monogrammed accents (pillows, towels, etc.). Hopefully going to get some stuff made up soon!

Here are a couple of inspiration pictures taken from my Pinterest:

I absolutely LOVE the colors in the last picture. I could also see some navy touches in there, too.

How cute would this blanket from Land's End be? Clearly, it's a "need" ;)

Wes Anderson Luggage

Can we talk about just how great this luggage is?

I am a big Wes Anderson fan to begin with, so as soon as I saw that Very Troubled Child has created bags inspired by Darjeeling Limited, I knew I had to have all of them with my initials! I'll have to save up for them, but I know it will be worth it. So cute, right?! They also have other products based on Wes Anderson films and I love it all. Sigh...

Beer with Brett

My husband Brett and I have a common interest: craft beer. We don't claim to be experts by any means, we just know what we like and what we don't. He actually writes an article for a local Tuscaloosa newspaper, and also has a blog where he posts his reviews (check it out here if you're interested!).
Anyway, we know we love to drink it, but a couple of weeks ago we decided to try our hand at making it! Today was Bottling Day over here at the Reid Estate.

Scrubbing the labels off of old bottles

So far, so good! We've got to wait and see how it turns out, but we're pretty excited. I myself am interested in possibly making some wine someday ;)

Have you ever tried to make your own drink of choice? Know anyone that has? It's very interesting learning about the process!

Totes!

I just love tote bags! They are the perfect bag to carry anything and everything I might could ever need. I got this one from J. Crew years ago. Honestly I think I got it in high school, and to give you a time reference, I'm almost two years out of college (yikes!). So needless to say, this bag is AMAZING and has held up so well (despite a little dirt here and there). I use this bag for literally everything. It goes with me on every vacation to running around on a busy day.

I couldn't find a similar one from J. Crew, but they look a lot like the L.L. Bean ones (that you can also get monogrammed!). Definitely on my wish list.

I also have my eye on this one from Barrington Gifts. I love how you can customize the color/pattern! Also, your initials again make a nice touch, love it!
What is your go-to bag?

Lush Rush

I unfortunately (or fortunately for my wallet) do not live anywhere near a Lush, but that does not stop me from getting my fix. This is what I'm using currently and a couple of my favorites...
Sexy Peel bar soap: This smells SO good. We're using it as a hand soap and also have a little sliver in the shower. It's so refreshing, and after I use it I can't stop smelling my hands, is that creepy?

Popcorn Lip Scrub: This is new to me, but I have been loving it so far. After I take my makeup off at night, I've added this lip scrub into my routine. It prevents my lips from getting so dry! Also, the scent reminds me of my "Let the Good Times Roll" facial cleanser which is one of my most favorite Lush smells.

Grass Shower Gel: I've got to start off by saying, this is one of the first things I ever bought from Lush, and honestly I don't know how I made it this far without it. My shower is not complete without this! It is so refreshing, I can not even give it a good description other than it is the best. Just trust me.

Flying Fox Shower Gel: This shower gel is new to me, but I'm using it more and more. It's a very strong scent of honey and jasmine, which is really lovely, but it's hard for me to break away from Grass. It's nice to mix things up from time to time.

I truly enjoy most products from Lush. It makes something I have to do (bathe) and turns it into a time where I can relax for a little while. If you've never given Lush a try, I highly recommend it! Also, if you have any favorites, I'd love to hear about it!

Welcome!

Hello everyone, I'm Kayla! I'm not really a "journaling" type of person, but I do really enjoy obsessing over things/hating things, haha! I feel like this would be a good place to share things I'm currently into, and could learn more from others. I love reading blogs, so I figured it'd be fun to have my own!

Here we go...
